We are a project partner in the implementation of the “KlimaTeller in der Mensa” project funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection as part of the National Climate Protection Initiative - and thus provide our guests with more transparency in terms of environmental protection and sustainability in our canteens.

The aim of the project is to enable all participating Studenten- und Studierendenwerke (STW) to implement automated CO2e accounting of their dishes and the awarding of the KlimaTeller for climate-friendly meals. This should make it easier for you as guests to make a more climate-friendly choice when eating out.

What is the KlimaTeller?

In a nutshell:

"A dish is awarded the KlimaTeller if it produces at least 50% less CO2e emissions than a comparable dish. This takes into account the CO2e emissions of all the ingredients on the plate that are produced from the field to the kitchen."

The KlimaTeller therefore enables students, staff and guests to select their meals with climate-friendliness in mind, making it easier to eat in the canteen in a more climate-friendly way. The data for the automated balancing comes from the Eaternity database.

How do you identify the KlimaTeller?

You can identify the KlimaTeller on the menu by the KlimaTeller logo.
The logo will initially only be displayed on our screens in the canteens - the labeling in the menus on our website will follow shortly.
