Rental contract

If you are offered a place in a student residence, you will be sent a rental contract as well as a bank withdrawal authorisation (SEPA Direct Debit Mandate for SEPA Core Direct Debit Scheme). You will have to pay the rent by direct debit starting from the date stated in the contract.

The rent comprises a basic amount as well as an advance payment of utility charges. At the end of the accounting year, the landlord compiles an account of the utility charges for the student residence and of the advance payments made.

The deposit is to be paid together with the first rent by direct debit.

The rental contracts of the Studierendenwerk are temporary contracts. These fixed-term rental contracts of the Studierendenwerk can be terminated in writing with a two months' notice as of March 31 or September 30.

The notice of termination must be received by the Studierendenwerk in writing with the tenant's original signature in good time. The address can be found on the termination form. Terminations by fax or e-mail are therefore not valid.

Cancelation

The rental contracts of the Studierendenwerk are temporary contracts. These fixed-term rental contracts of the Studierendenwerk can be terminated in writing with a two months' notice as of February 28./29. or August 31.
