Dear guests,
from 19 May 2025, we will adjust the prices for the side dishes served at our canteens. We are aware that many students feel impacted even by small price rises. This is why it is all the more important to us to provide a transparent explanation of the reasons why we have taken this step:
• The general economic situation has changed significantly: The climate crisis leads to lower agricultural yields and, consequently, to rising food prices.
• At the same time, carbon prices and rising energy prices resulting from geopolitical developments lead to additional costs.
• Higher wages paid by our suppliers and throughout the entire supply chain also have an effect on the purchase prices we pay.
• The subsidy we receive for meals for students has dropped in percentage terms in 2024 and will not rise again in 2025.
We have made the deliberate decision to stick to our quality standards despite these developments: We will not replace the products we use with cheaper alternatives and will not lower our quality standards. In addition, sustainability remains an essential aspect for us.
Thanks to careful planning, we were able to keep our prices stable for a long time. (Our last price change was on 1 May 2022.) However, we now feel forced to adjust the prices of our side dishes, soups, salads and desserts starting on 19 May 2025. The prices of our main dishes will not change.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this necessary price rise and hope to continue welcoming you as our guests.
